Metrotenna Review

Although the Channel Master Flatenna did a great job with 36 of 42 local stations, the Channel Master Metrotenna now allows me to watch all 42 local stations without any fading in and out. It is a great antenna. Wish I had purchased it much sooner.

Great little antenna

I needed an extra antenna since I had too much coax and way too many splitters on my main antenna to operate my OTA recorder properly. I added this one on a mast, set direction and it's perfect. I get a 100% signal.

Metro 40 Antenna

I put the metro 40 in my attic and it is doing a good job.

UHF Bowtie antenna

This antenna worked well and as expected for my UHF channels. My single VHF channel was very weak and the channel response was very poor. The specs state that it has VHF gain but I doubt it. I happened to have a FM band antenna available and that worked much better for my VHF digital TV channel than the bowtie

Improved reception

I am in a reception shadow zone. I don't quite have line of sight to the TV towers in my area and my aluminum sided house further weakens indoor signals. I mounted the Metro 40 antenna on a mast about 7 feet above my roof ridge, installed the LTE filter inline in the attic, then to the CM 1-port 10 dB amplifier. SIgnal levels were up significantly on all channels, got all but one channel possible in my area. At night, signal levels diminish to a minimum, but picture and audio are still uninterrupted. Only weather fronts refract signals away from my location. Will try a stronger amplifier.
The CM METROtenna 40 does the job and has already survived 40-50 mph winds!
