Overview

The Channel Master Coax Cable Tester is designed to test and identify coaxial cables for continuity, opens and shorts. The Coax Cable Tester is one of the most useful tools for installing a TV antenna when using existing pre-wired coaxial cables. The tester will enable you to determine the correct coaxial cable(s) to connect to your antenna.

The Coax Cable Tester is made up of two parts, the signal/tone generator and the speaker, and it's easy to use. Simply connect the signal/tone generator to a coaxial cable located anywhere in the home then take the speaker to the distribution point or structured wire panel and connect to each of the coaxial cables, when the correct cable is identified, you will hear a high pitched tone from the speaker. The Signal/Tone Generator part of the tester also has a built-in red LED indicator which will illuminate when the speaker is connected at the other end or when a short is detected in the coaxial cable.

The Coax Cable Tester is powered by a standard AAA battery and which is included so that the tester is ready to use when you receive it.

Works perfectly

This well made tool helped me figure out a bunch of unlabeled cable runs in my house. I'm not sure I could have sorted out the cable segments from room to room without it. Recommended!

A small yet handy tool!

As described, it does the job of locating/troubleshooting the cable ends yet small enough to fit in the pocket1

The Right Tool for the Job!

This is such a simple, but effective tool! I moved into a new home, with several runs of unterminated coaxial. This tool, after termination of those runs, has allowed me to simply identify which runs go where, and to allow me to make my connections. Simple tool, made of quality materials and construction, and price was right!

A consistent story I have had with ChannelMaster products!

Saved me hours

After working with a tech support agent at Channel Master regarding pre-wired existing cables throughout the new home we purchased it sounded like this device would easily solve our issue of identifying which rooms cables ran to. Within minutes we were able to identify cables that were not connected which we thought were and we also were able to identify a problem with a wall plate that the previous owner made. this device saved us from climbing up and down a ladder to hook up cables in our attic. I would mention this tool to anyone with a mess of cables that are not marked and they need to know where they go inside the walls. If I can use this anyone can! Great tool!
