Product Information
Overview
The Coaxial Connector Installation kit is an all-in-one solution for making professional quality coaxial cable connections.
The Channel Master Coaxial Connector Installation Kit includes 10 Channel Master F-Type compression connectors, the Channel Master compression tool and the Channel Master cable preparation tool (cable stripper). Designed for professionals and the Do-it-Yourself consumer, the kit provides everything needed to attach high quality Channel Master compression connectors at the end of a coaxial cable. Popular consumer applications for this kit include, making short indoor coax cables, long outdoor cables and replacing old low quality connectors installed during construction. The kit is also popular as a starter kit for new antenna installers, electricians, home theater installers and other professional coaxial cable installers. The included connectors can be used indoors, outdoors and are compatible with standard, tri and quad shield RG-6 coaxial cable.
Not Your Typical Connector
The Channel Master compression connector is not your typical cheap Gold-Plated connector, instead we put our focus on what really matters.
Digital Signal Future Proofing
Channel Master coaxial connectors deliver enhanced reliability for signal reception of current and future standards such as 4K, Ultra HD and HDR.
Continuous Ground
Provides a continuous ground regardless if the connector is tight or loose. A broken ground path due to a loose connector will cause signal quality issues that could result in intermittent macroblocking of video.
Excellent Shielding Effectiveness
A connector with poor shielding can let unwanted signals penetrate and interfere with your signal. Interference introduced through the connector on the cable will cause signal quality issues resulting in intermittent or complete loss of audio and video.
Indoor/Outdoor Design
Integrated dual o-rings sit on both the front and back sides of the Channel Master compression connector nut. The o-rings are constructed of high tensile strength NBR rubber and provide a superior barrier against moisture intrusion preventing long-term signal issues when moisture makes it's way onto the inner part of the coaxial cable. The 100% brass all metal design delivers maximum cable retention and will hold up over time as opposed to connectors constructed of plastic.
Specifications
A few days ago I completed the installation of a Channel Master Digital Pro rooftop antenna, a pre-amp with power inserter, a 3-way splitter and a total of 250' of RG6 coax. I also bought the connector tool kit that included 10 connectors to complete the job, so I could cut the cables to the length needed without leaving too much extra slack. I am a retired network engineer from one of the big cable companies, so I am familiar with working on coax and RG6 connectors. I liked the top quality components of everything I bought from Channel Master. The new Channel Master over-the-air digital antenna system we now have at home connects to three TVs and has excellent reception on around 50 channels. I am impressed with the quality of everything, and especially important are the good connectors and tool kit that made it possible to hook up the components.
I have been attempting to crimp on coax cable ends for decades. They have always come out poorly, sometimes falling off or shorting out. So, I was hesitant to buy a longer length of cable that I knew I would have to shorten, but it was so much more expensive to buy 3 pre maid lengths, and they would not be custom fit.
So, like others, I was reluctant to spend $60 but decided to go for it.
Well, I could not believe what a difference this crimping tool, as well as the stripping tool and high quality ends make when making up my custom length cables!
The stripper worked perfectly, the crimper is so easy to use, and my cables came out perfect with secure ends. I am very glad I chose to buy this and hopefully will be using it again soon!
I originally did not want to spend close to $60 for a tool that I would not frequently use. I stripped the RG6 cable with a $7 stripper and bought SCREW ON RG6 connectors from our local home center. They worked ok with some difficulty and I could tell they were not as solid a connection as the connectors on a piece of RG6 cable that has CHANNELMASTER Crimp Connectors. Determined to have a trouble free TV reception and watching a CHANNELMASTER video I decided to buy the Cable Connector kit. I was greatly surprised and pleased with the CHANNELMASTER Cable Stripper. I enjoyed the piece of Velcro on the stripper that made a super neat "combing" of the cable shield "hairs". The crimp connectors required a little "umph" to push on but made a beautiful solid connection. The CHANNELMASTER Crimping Tool was a PLEASURE to use and made my RG6 cables professionally finished. Sometimes saving money is not the wise way to go and $60 is not a lot of money to pay for piece of mind do it yourself professional results.
I used this kit to make the RG6U Quad Coax Cable connections to my new Pro-Model UHF/VHF Antenna and Pre-Amp 1. The quad cable runs through out the house. There was a learning curve for me and I used old cable to practice (cutting only). What I did not count on was how hard it would be to get the Channel Master connectors to seat properly before I could use the compression tool. I have mild arthritis in my hands and trying to push and twist the connectors onto quad cable was very hard. I managed and was ultimately able to make secure compressions with the compression tool. The tools were excellent for the job. Using quad coax cable with the connectors was a real challenge.
Very easy to use, online videos were very helpful. A great way to customize your cable length.
