Universal Atenna mount November 20, 2017

I bought this mount to hold a small radio communication antenna. Antenna only ways maybe 5 lbs and is 8 ft tall. So no strain for the mount. It seems well made and was easy to assemble. Mounted on the eve at the rear of our home and it worked out great!

Small, discrete and easy to install. November 20, 2017

Pros. I was worried about the hassle of mounting a tripod on my roof, running the cable through the attic, and and then having to look at the ugly thing.  This mount was the perfect solution since I could easily mount it to my fascia.  The black looks pretty sharp and does not stick out like a sore thumb.  Very sturdy.  Only needed to drill 4 holes and get a 10 mm socket to mount.  Also needed an 11 mm and 13 mm wrench.  Goes together very easy.  Instructions are very clear although with a little common sense they are probably not needed.

Cons.  This isn't going to be tall enough if your worried about getting a good signal.

Good Quality Mount July 31, 2017
Reviewer: Bob from Fort Collins, CO
I purchased this mount for a long boom UHF/VHF-Hi antenna and mounted it to the fascia near the peak of the roof.  I found two problems with the provided mounting hardware.  The lag screws provided are 2" x 1/4" while the mating holes in the mounting plate are drilled to accept 5/8" bolts and the 1/4" would almost pop through.  Also, to get through the fascia, siding, sheathing and into the truss, I needed 3".  So I replaced the lag screws with 3"x5/8" and it was solid as a rock.  The carriage bolts used to lock down the angle adjustment are just long enough to get the nut on and tighten it.  However, these nuts want to pull through the adjustment slot when tightened and really need a washer, but the bolt is too short to add one and engage the threads.  So I replaced them with 1" and added a washer, and it I was able to tighten it up solid.
Bottom line - replace those two fasteners and you'll have a very adjustable, very solid antenna mount.  Thanks.
