5 of 5 What a difference! June 18, 2019

I have one of those Vizios that do not have a coaxial so a converter box is necessary. Previously I was using a cheapo one bought elsewhere and the reception was terrible. Immediately after setting up the Channel Master there is a HUGE difference. The visual quality alone is 100000% better, I didn't even know that was possible! The remote is backlit, the interface and guide are so much better, the box is much smaller than the other one, this was so worth it. I wish I had gotten this one first, would have saved me some grief.

5 of 5 Best DTV Tuner April 17, 2019
Reviewer: John from Renton WA
I ordered two of the ConverterBox bundle directly from Channelmaster.  The price was very reasonable.    Performance was much better than the built in tuners in my Samsung flat screens.  The Sansungs would usually pixelate when signal dropped out.  Thie Channelmasters would momentarily hesistate, but not pixelate.  Overall, the Channelmaster was a much better tuner.  These Samsungs were a few years old, and I don't know if new Samsungs are any better.  I have read and heard that many of the new flat screens of all brands have crummy tuners and streaming interfaces.  You are better off to consider your flat screen as a monitor only and buy separate tuners and streaming devices.  The flatscreen manufacturers have been trying to design their tuners and streaming interfaces in such a way that  they "sandbag" or "hijack" you into watching content that is preferred by the manufacturer, based on some secretive business relationship.

4 of 5 good little box March 22, 2019

Ordered the small Converter/tuner box  and flat antenna combination.  Took a few minutes to get the converter/tuner working, but when I did, it was able to pull in 79 channels.  The flat antenna provided no joy for me and I think the problem is/was the fact that I'm located about 30 miles from the antenna farm south of dallas.  There are lots of tall buildings and the airport between my location and the antennas.  I also could not get the flat antenna high enough on the wall in my house to feel that it would work.  I'll save it for another application in the future.
