I have been using 2 different TIVOs in the last 4 years and this TABLO just keeps amazing me more & more each day by its performance over the last few weeks!

I was afraid that cutting the cord would prevent us from recording programs to view later, but this Over The Air DVR/made that a non-issue...
The Tablo 4th Generation unit hooks up easily and scanned 142 channels in the first pass through our broadcast area. I am still trying to master the control of the unit, but since it's only been hooked up 24 hours, playing with it's capabilities is as much fun as watching the broadcast TV stuff that can be captured! Plus I bought it through the Channel Master Site for $75... A bargain for sure.
Tablo 4th gen came in at a very reasonable price and so far has been working great. Delivery was on time and channel master did a great job getting it shipped. I added an external hdd for recordings but for lite use the internal hdd it has built-in (advertised 50hr storage) works well.
I didn't really need another source for TV since I have access to a streaming service at low/no cost. However, I always wanted over the air reception, but didn't want to put up an antenna and runnning cable to the lower floor was a deal breaker.
Th Tablo makes all of that irrelevant. I had a $4 flat panel antenna I used to test out a TV once and plugged it into the Tablo and went thru the set up steps and it quickly found 96 channels. The guide is impressive and I'm very satisfied. Now that I've played with it, I'll probably give it to a relative that has no streaming service. The only downside is that my smart TV (Vizio) doesn't have a Tablo app, so I had to use the Fire Stick - no big deal but a bit less convenient.
Tablo has quite an easy format so the learning curve is quick and easy. Very affordable as well with a few options and deals now I wish I had purchased the 4 channel. It's attractive and tiny enough to place anywhere. However perhaps if it were square it fit better in more places. Being app oriented helps to keep it small and simple to operate. I was NOT satisfied with the return option. No reason not to send a box and free return label for easy returns. Your a large sucessful company so no need to burden us if a return was needed.
I found that to be insulting so you lost a star. My only other issue was your commercials I found them to be deceiving. If not for delving deeper on internet before purchasing it a common everyday customer could easily be deceived. As we now know it does not work on most tvs, and one would need purchase a newer version of a Firestick or Rocku or similar device. I have a newer LG and a Samsung TV I did see your not yet updated to those brands but I have a Roku and Firestick though hate using them but bought Tablo knowing you will update eventually.
Turns out all 3 of my streaming devices were older and not Tablo acceptable. Thank goodness my friend had an extra Roku for me. Though I was using it via my brand new high end Samsung Android I really did not like having to cast to my tv so was about to return it and saw it was not a free return. I dislike incomplete and deceptive commercials viewed by hard working folks. You nearly got 3 stars for that.
