It’s a TiVo original remote for replacement of the original one. Original was having issues and found this one at a fair price.

The backlit remore is quiet and easily seen at night. Great choice.

I'd buy another one

High quality feel. Works great. 1 tiny downside...it's literally identical in appearance to the non-lighted remote that came the Edge, which means I generally grab the unlighted remote by mistake. I recommend it.

Great for night time use

The standard remote that came with my TiVO Edge for antenna was hard to read while watching TV at night. This remote has a backlight that senses ambient conditions and turns on only when needed. It should be the default remote.

Wonderful Remote

This is a wonderful remote if you intend to use it in a darkened room. It is laid out exactly like the cheaper remote that came with my TiVO Edge. It comes on automatically when it is dark and you lift it up. It turns off on it's own after you set it down. It lights up for a few seconds on its own at night on the half hour, which is nice if you can't sleep and are just laying there trying to wile away the night, lol. I was just struggling too much to try to find the correct buttons on the regular remote in the dark so it was a no-brainer to spend the extra $50 to upgrade to this one. I only wish it was part of the package as I don't really need 2 remotes - and the directions said I can only have one hooked up to control the TV at once anyway. The only downside is that you can't tell by touch alone which end is the top, so you do have to look down at the remote sometimes if it won't respond. But overall, I highly recommend this remote.
