Dvr+++++++++ July 6, 2015

So far I have really liked the dvr it is about the size of an IPad. Setup is easy I am just south of Phoenix and I get 48 channels when combined with a GE attic antenna. It's functionality is a lot like having a cable box obviously with just the over the air channels. I would decently recommend this product for cable cutters. It has a guide info on each program and several Internet channels.

Easy July 6, 2015

If you still want to utilize the antenna connection on your television, you will need to get a splitter of some sort, I prefer a coax "T" type splitter as the DVR+ does not have a coax out.  This way you can watch TV with out using the DVR+ as your tuner, thus not having the DVR+ full on when the TV is on.  The set up is relatively easy, easier when you have an internet connection for the DVR+ so that updates can be performed and on line channel listings performed.  It can record two HD shows at once, you can watch one and record at same time.  Draw back, thanks to "TIVO", is that an outboard hard drive is necessary (there is some internal memory, but not enough to fully use this device).  Glad a new style remote can be purchased as the skip forward and back buttons are too low on the remote for comfortable operation (these are the most utilized buttons). Still a little pricey, but no monthly fees.  Television must have HDMI input to use DVR+, all new flat TV's do.

DVR+ 1T verses the old PAL unit. July 2, 2015
Reviewer: Joel from Raleigh, NC United States
DVR+ 1T verses the old PAL unit.

Pros:
Better interface, better recording of new shows, more disk space for recording. Internet ready with some streaming. Smaller & not as loud when running.

Cons:
Dual tuners isn't as good as the PAL (My TV had worse tuner, we used the PAL when the wind picked up, the DVR+ is worse than the TV). Remote needs work (Buttons small, no live button, can't use DVD or Audio on DVR+ remote, etc). Streaming buffers more than Roku (Both have Vevo, always buffers {pauses} on DVR+, Roku doesn't stop for buffering).

Coming out: New remote. CM should send this remote out for free to all DVR+ customers. We shouldn't have to pay another $29+ shipping.

I'm really thinking about returning the DVR+ due to the bad Dual tuners! This is really a downer for me! I should have just kept the PAL and not bought a DVR+.

Wow, DVR + Almost Perfect July 2, 2015
Reviewer: W. Morris from Tallahassee, FL United States
We cut the satellite TV cord back in February 2011 when I discovered Channel Masters CM-7000PAL DVR.
After reading the reviews I realized this offered most everything I needed or wanted.
I love the 2 week TV Guide and being able to search for a program and set it to record only the new shows of the series in just a few button presses.
I have seen a lot of people complaining about the hard drive not spinning down and wearing out sooner. My WD My Book Hard Drive spins down and goes into standby after about 10 minutes of no activity. When the RED record light on the DVR+ came on the hard drive light came on steady with an occasional flash indicating it is recording.
The remote should have been flipped with the most used functions at the top and the numeric key pad at the bottom.  The new Enhanced DVR+ Remote looks like it will fit the bill.
Bottom line, other than the remote, I have not found anything worth complaining about. Thank you Channel Master.

I have used Channel Master products in the past and have always been satisfied with the performance.
The DVR+ was very easy to set up and program.
Watching noncompressed channels is as different as night and day.
