Worth every penny! May 19, 2015

Two weeks after I received my Channelmaster and I couldn't be happier!  I had to upgrade my HDTV antenna to get all channels coming in properly, but other than that  it works great.  I got the regular set and then added a 1TB hard-drive for $49.  When plugged into the internet it streams  and updates itself.  Cable used to charge me for the DVR box, the service and even the different remote.  I figure I should break even after six months.

Very happy with this DVR I especially like the way the guide is set up that it pulls up  all the stations at once even without an Internet connection

Hooked up to 500gb toshiba hard drive and 30 year old antenna in the attic, pulls in every channel. Ran a rg6 cable and have beautiful hd picture. Old  Logitech harmony 200 remote synced right up.  My router is right by the dvr so I used a eithernet cable, the 2 week guide is great. Very happy with the dvr+ it's easy to use and set up. I could afford the cable bill but it ticked me off having to give them extra money for the hd when you can get it for free.

DVR arrived in a timely manor and was easy to hook up. Went through a learning curve to learn the remote. Tech support a big help,
Bottom line I would do it again and would recommend.

Channel Master DVR+ May 14, 2015
Reviewer: claude phillips from williamsburg, OH United States
I love the thin profile of the case and the easy access to connections on the back.

The remote has a dedicated "record" button.

The guide offers quick access to internet streaming channels Vudu and YouTube.

I don't like the use of button batteries to power the remote.

The functions of the remote seem sluggish and at times actually unresponsive.

Access to additional streaming channels such as   Netflix, Amazon and other popular streaming channels would certainly add to the desirability of the CM DVR+.

I don't believe that the tuner in the CM DVR+ is as robust as CM claims it to be.  It does not pull in as many channels as my TV's or my SimpleTV's tuners and seems to have fewer channels that display without pixilation.

Between the three, I would rate the SimpleTV's tuner as the most robust.

Summary:  Overall I like the CM DVR+ because of the things it does well; hopefully future firmware updates will correct the listed shortcomings.
