DVR+ after 1 year July 25, 2016
Reviewer: JoT from Niagara, Ontario, Canada
I bought the DVR+ 1TB last year and it is still performing flawlessly. I chose the unit because it allowed me to cancel my cable subscription and still have a fully functional dvr. This made me feel like I wasn't missing a modern tv experience. I didn't have to watch a show when it aired and I could skip through commercials. Features are great: free 2 week guide, hard wired into my network, and there is no monthly fee. It performs better than my old cable dvr and I've found the guide and software to be intuitive. I haven't been able to fill the hard drive past 75%. The initial cost for me (in Canada) was about $550 but I've saved twice that in cable fees since installing it.

My only criticism: the online apps are a bit slow to load and the internet channels are mostly unwatchable due to poor content.  Those aren't the reasons I bought the unit however so I'm not bothered by them.

My advice? Buy and install an antenna. If you're signal is good buy a DVR+ You won't regret it.

Cut the cord July 20, 2016
Reviewer: Steve from Tacoma, Wa
Two plus years ago we moved where ota tv is available and, because we were 10 plus year dish dvr users, could only take advantage with another, similar dvr.
Channel master has worked so well, we just bought our second one. We have never connected to the internet. We never turn our receiver off since we record everything we watch. And we have more TV than we can watch, without commercials and on demand.

Delivered promptly. Works well in my rural area. July 20, 2016
Reviewer: Kent DeGroff from Arenas Valley, NM
I first tried to purchase on the web but wasn't able to. However, I got an email from their support team (Ben) who suggested I call him. I did, but it was difficult to contact him as I was left on lengthy holds two times. I sent an email to Ben who then called me promptly. I ordered the unit from him and got it in 3 days.

I got the basic DVR+ 16 GB. It is really small and thin and is expandable for wifi and hard drive storage if needed. I didn't get the USB wifi dongle for the internet so I had to do the recommended firmware update by transferring the update file to a flash drive using my PC then plugging it into the DVR. The update went smoothly.

I've only had it a short while so I'm still learning the ropes but I like it a lot. I would give 5 stars for the cost/capability of the unit but the phone calls to limbo-land lead me to believe they may not be super responsive with support (except for Ben). Maybe they're better now though.

dvr review July 19, 2016
Reviewer: Jerry from Philadelphia area
I purchased the 16gb dvr and a 1 terabit hard drive for about $300. This combo works great and can save about 160 hours of content. Very easy to set up. No contract like some other antenna dvr's require. Without an internet connection menu shows tv content for the next 20-24 hours. You can program to record shows in advance. can record daily, mon.-to friday once a week or single time.

Buy the DVR+ July 19, 2016
Reviewer: Doug Y from Clearwater FL
Probably one of the best decisions I made for TV.  I had the other one, got it as a reburb, looked like a good deal, it wasn't. Monthly payments for a guide? When I cancelled the account he offered a lifetime guide for $200.00 after paying $20.00 a month for 2 years? It already cost me $480.00! I'm selling it. Still it was better than dish.
OK back to DVR+, set up is stupid easy, got the USB WiFi, worked well.  Everything is intuitive and simple, the guide, the free one, is the best.
Internet channels are interesting, the remote controls the TV after programming it to the LG TV.
Simply put it works.
